The Cote family came to visit us July 2024 and met all the llamas. They made a commitment to foster our llama Wookie; making a difference in the life of this sweet rescue llama. We are very grateful to Jill and Ryan Cote and their three lovely daughters for their financial support. This page is dedicated to them and updated each month to chronical Wookie's adventures and share his story.

Wookie was born in November of 2022 in a herd of 25 llamas in Alamosa Colorado that needed rescue. We call his mom Sally Ride, the largest female from the herd. Wookie developed an uncommon malabsorption problem in his gut so needs some extra acceptance and accommodations for his IBS. He has seen multiple veterinarians and has traveled from Albuquerque, NM to Ft. Collins, CO to see the best veterinarians around at CSU. We hope that he starts producing beans - llama beans, that is. That will mean he is all better. Currently he is getting B Complex injections each month along with probiotics, mineral supplements and edible clay in his daily grain.
